Breville Group Limited, often called Breville, is an Australian company. They make and sell many different home appliances. Their main office is in Alexandria, Sydney, Australia.
Breville is famous for kitchen gadgets like blenders, coffee machines, toasters, kettles, and microwaves. They also own other well-known brands such as Kambrook and Ronson (outside of North America). In the UK and Europe, their products are sold under the Sage brand. This is because another company already uses the "Breville" name there. Breville also makes "Creatista" coffee machines for Nespresso. They help distribute other Nespresso products in Australia, New Zealand, the USA, and Canada.

History of Breville
How Breville Started
Breville was started in 1932 by two friends, Bill O’Brien and Harry Norville. They combined parts of their last names to create "Breville." At first, the company made radios. During World War II, they even helped by making special detectors to find mines.
By 1953, another company took over the radio business. Breville then started focusing on making kitchen appliances. This change happened in the 1960s.
Family Leadership and New Ideas
The O'Brien family continued to lead the Breville business for three generations. Bill's son, John O'Brien, created a special research and development center in the late 1960s. This is where new ideas for products were created. His daughter, Barbara, worked in the marketing department in the 1990s. John O'Brien continued to lead many new product ideas until he passed away in 2003.
Breville's team has come up with over 100 patents. A patent is like a special permission that protects a new invention. They have also won more than 40 international design awards for their products.
The Famous Sandwich Maker
In 1974, Breville launched a very popular product: the toasted sandwich maker. It was a huge hit! In its first year, they sold 400,000 of them in Australia. This made the Breville brand a household name. Soon after, the sandwich maker was also launched in New Zealand and the United Kingdom. It was just as successful there.
Breville has been listed on the Australian Securities Exchange since 1999. This means people can buy shares in the company. In 2016, Breville moved its main office to a new, large building in Sydney.
Becoming Breville Group Limited
In 2001, the Breville companies in Australia, New Zealand, and Hong Kong became part of a company called Housewares International Limited. This made the group focus more on electrical appliances.
Then, in 2008, Housewares International Limited officially changed its name to Breville Group Limited. The Breville Group Limited now owns the Kambrook and Sage brands. They sell most of their products under the Sage brand in the UK and Europe. This is because another company, Jarden, already owns the Breville brand name in the UK.
The Breville Group also owns other brands like Ronson, Solis, Gastroback, Stollar, Catler, Bork, and Riviera&Bar.
