Brewer's bittercress (Cardamine breweri) is a type of plant. It's often called a "bittercress." You can find this plant in western North America. It grows from British Columbia in Canada, down through California, and over to Colorado in the USA. It likes wet places, especially in cool, damp forests and bogs.

What Does Brewer's Bittercress Look Like?

Brewer's bittercress is a plant that lives for many years. It's called a "perennial herb." It can grow to be about half a meter tall. That's about 20 inches, or up to your knee!

Its leaves are usually oval. Sometimes, a leaf might be split into a few smaller parts.

The plant has many small white flowers. They grow in a cluster called a "raceme." This means the flowers are arranged along a central stem. Each flower has four petals. They are very tiny, only about half a centimeter long. That's like the width of your pinky finger!

After the flowers, the plant makes a fruit. This fruit is a long, thin pod called a "silique." It can be up to 3 centimeters long. Inside this pod are many tiny seeds.
