Brian Holland was born on February 15, 1941. He is an American songwriter and music producer. He is famous for being part of Holland–Dozier–Holland. This team wrote and produced many hit songs.
They helped create the special "Motown sound". This sound was popular with groups like Martha and the Vandellas, The Supremes, and The Four Tops. Brian Holland worked with Lamont Dozier to arrange and produce these songs. He has helped write over 145 hit songs in the US and 78 in the UK.

Brian Holland's Early Life
Brian Holland was born in Detroit, Michigan, USA. His brother is Eddie Holland. Brian started his music career as a performer. He released a solo song in 1958.
He was also in a group called the Fidalatones. Later, he joined The Satintones, a Motown group. Brian also sang with the Rayber Voices. This group sang backup for many early Motown artists.
Working as a Songwriter and Producer
Brian Holland teamed up with Robert Bateman for a short time. They were known as "Brianbert". They wrote the hit song "Please Mr. Postman" for The Marvelettes.
Later, Brian partnered with Lamont Dozier. They were called "Holland–Dozier". They released a song for Motown in 1963. This partnership eventually grew into the famous Holland–Dozier–Holland team.
Later Music Projects
Brian Holland continued to work in music. He wrote songs for the First Wives Club musical. This shows his talent across different types of music.
Becoming an Author
In 2019, Brian Holland wrote a book. It was an autobiography about Holland-Dozier-Holland. He wrote it with his brother Eddie and Dave Thompson. The book is called "Come and Get These Memories". This title comes from a hit song by Martha and the Vandellas.
