Brian Raynold Hunter, born on March 4, 1968, is an American former professional baseball player. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for nine seasons, from 1991 to 2000. Brian played for several teams, including the Atlanta Braves, Pittsburgh Pirates, Cincinnati Reds, Seattle Mariners, St. Louis Cardinals, and Philadelphia Phillies. He mostly played as a first baseman, but he also spent time as an outfielder. Today, he works as a scout for the Atlanta Braves.
Brian Hunter's Baseball Journey
Brian Hunter was chosen by the Atlanta Braves in the 8th round of the 1987 amateur draft. He played in three World Series with the Braves in 1991, 1992, and 1999.
In Game 5 of the 1991 World Series, Brian hit a home run. The Braves won that game 14–5 against the Minnesota Twins. He also hit an important two-run home run in the first inning of Game 7 of the 1991 National League Championship Series. This game was against the Pittsburgh Pirates at Three Rivers Stadium. The Braves won that game 4–0, which allowed them to move on to the 1991 World Series.
Brian Hunter is also the brother of basketball player Loree Moore.
