Brian Johnson, born on April 1, 1960, is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. He played as a right winger. Johnson played one season in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Detroit Red Wings.
Brian Johnson's Hockey Journey
Brian Johnson started his hockey career in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). He played four seasons there with teams like the Verdun/Sorel Éperviers and the Sherbrooke Beavers. His skills on the ice led him to sign with the Detroit Red Wings in 1980.
Before reaching the NHL, Johnson also played in other professional leagues. He spent time in the American Hockey League (AHL) with the Adirondack Red Wings. He also played in the Central Hockey League (CHL) for the Dallas Black Hawks.
Playing in the NHL
Brian Johnson made his debut for the Detroit Red Wings during the 1983-84 NHL season. He played a total of three regular season games in the NHL. During these games, he did not score any points but had five penalty minutes.
After his brief time in the NHL, Johnson continued to play in other leagues. He played for the Carolina Thunderbirds in the Atlantic Coast Hockey League (ACHL). He also played for the Indianapolis Checkers in the International Hockey League (IHL). Brian Johnson retired from professional hockey in 1986.
