Brice Johnson, born on June 27, 1994, is an American professional basketball player. He recently played for the Nelson Giants in New Zealand's National Basketball League. He played college basketball for the University of North Carolina, finishing in 2016. The Los Angeles Clippers picked him in the first round of the 2016 NBA draft.

Early Life and High School Basketball
Brice Johnson grew up in Orangeburg, South Carolina. He went to Edisto High School, where his dad was the head basketball coach. When Brice was a teenager, his mother, Renee Johnson, sadly passed away from colon cancer.
College Basketball Career
Brice Johnson played college basketball for the North Carolina Tar Heels.
Sophomore and Junior Seasons
As a sophomore, Johnson averaged 10.3 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. In his junior year, he was named to the third-team All-ACC. He averaged 12.6 points and 7.8 rebounds per game that season.
Senior Year Highlights
Johnson's senior season was his best. He was a co-captain and helped the Tar Heels win the ACC regular season title. They also won the ACC tournament championship.
On January 4, 2016, Johnson had an amazing game against Florida State. He scored 39 points and grabbed 23 rebounds. He was only the second North Carolina player ever to achieve such high numbers in one game.
He set a new school record for most double-doubles in a season. A double-double is when a player gets double-digit numbers in two different stats, like points and rebounds. Johnson also tied the school record for most rebounds in a season with 399. He later broke this record, finishing the season with 416 rebounds.
Johnson was chosen for the Associated Press' 2015–16 All-America team. He led the Tar Heels, along with Marcus Paige, to the NCAA men's basketball championship game. They lost a close game to Villanova, 77–74, where Johnson scored 14 points and had 8 rebounds.

Brice Johnson has played for several teams in his professional career, both in the NBA and internationally.
Time with the Los Angeles Clippers
The Los Angeles Clippers drafted Johnson as the 25th pick in the 2016 NBA draft on June 23, 2016. He signed his first contract with them in July 2016.
He had a back injury that kept him out for a while. Johnson made his NBA debut on February 23, 2017. He played two minutes and got two rebounds. During his time with the Clippers, he also played for their development league team, the Salt Lake City Stars.
Moving to the Memphis Grizzlies
In January 2018, Johnson was part of a trade to the Detroit Pistons. Soon after, in February, he was traded again to the Memphis Grizzlies. He played a few games for the Grizzlies before they waived him in March 2018.
Playing Overseas
After his time in the NBA, Johnson played for several teams around the world:
- In 2019, he joined Indios de Mayagüez in Puerto Rico.
- From 2019 to 2020, he played for Orlandina in Italy, averaging 17 points and 11 rebounds per game.
- In 2020, he moved to France to play for Chorale Roanne Basket.
- From 2020 to 2021, he played for BC Budivelnyk in Ukraine.
- He spent two seasons, from 2021 to 2023, with the Toyama Grouses in Japan.
- In 2023, Johnson played for the Omani club Al-Seeb Club. He averaged 23 points and nearly 9 rebounds per game in five games.
Recent Play with Nelson Giants
In February 2025, Johnson signed with the Nelson Giants in New Zealand. However, he was released by the team on April 16, 2025.
