Brightside is a small place in California. It used to be called Brightside Station. It is an unincorporated community in Alameda County. This means it's a town that doesn't have its own local government. Instead, the county manages it. Brightside is about 2.25 miles (3.62 kilometers) west of a town called Sunol.
Brightside's Past: The Train Station
Long ago, Brightside was known for its busy train station. This station was a popular stop for trains traveling through the area. People used it to get around and transport goods.
Why the Station Closed
However, times changed, and the station became less popular. During a tough time in history called the Great Depression, many businesses struggled. The Great Depression was a period in the 1930s when many people lost their jobs and money. Because of these hard times, the Brightside train station eventually had to close down.
