Brimfield is a community in Portage County, Ohio, United States. It is called a census-designated place (CDP). This means it's an area defined by the government for collecting population information.
In 2020, about 3,365 people lived in Brimfield. It is located in the central part of Brimfield Township. This area is mostly rural, with some light industries, shopping centers, neighborhoods, and farms. Brimfield is situated between the Ohio cities of Akron and Kent. It is also part of the larger Akron Metropolitan Statistical Area.
History of Brimfield
The area that is now Brimfield Township had different names a long time ago. From 1818 to 1830, it was known as Thorndike. The name Brimfield comes from Brimfield, Massachusetts. This was the hometown of John Wyles Jr., who was one of the first people to own land here. A post office was opened in Brimfield in 1834. It served the community until 1907.

In 2000, there were 3,248 people living in Brimfield. These people lived in 1,139 households, and 912 of these were families. The population density was about 817 people per square mile. There were 1,158 housing units in the area.
