Brinn John Bevan (born 16 June 1997) is a talented artistic gymnast from Wales. He made history as part of the first men's team from Great Britain to win a medal at the World Gymnastics Championships. This big moment happened in Glasgow on 28 October 2015. Brinn was also part of the British team that competed in the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics.
Brinn's Junior Gymnastics Career
In 2012, Brinn Bevan was part of the British junior team. They won a gold medal at the European Gymnastics Championships in Montpelier. This was a great start to his career.
Two years later, in 2014, he was again chosen for the junior team. This time, it was for the European Gymnastics Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria. The British team won another gold medal there. Brinn also won individual medals. He earned silver medals on the parallel bars and still rings. He also took home a bronze medal in the all-around competition. His teammate Nile Wilson won gold in that event.
Brinn's Senior Gymnastics Career
In 2015, Brinn Bevan started competing as a senior gymnast. His first big event was the European Games in Baku. There, he won a bronze medal on the pommel horse.
Later that year, he competed at the 2015 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Glasgow, Scotland. His team did very well, helping Great Britain qualify for the 2016 Olympic Games. The team then went on to win a silver medal in the team finals. This was the first team medal ever for British men's gymnastics. Sadly, on 21 November, Brinn broke his left leg during vault training. He needed surgery and many months of recovery.
Even after his injury, Brinn worked hard to recover. On 12 July 2016, he was chosen for the 2016 British Olympic team. He joined other top gymnasts like Louis Smith, Nile Wilson, Kristian Thomas, and Max Whitlock.
In March 2018, Brinn achieved another milestone. He won the all-around title at the British Championships for the very first time.
In late September 2019, Brinn competed at the Northern European Championships in Iceland. He won a gold medal on the pommel horse. He also helped his team win a silver medal in the team event.
