British National Party facts for kids
The British National Party (BNP) is a political group in the United Kingdom. It is sometimes called a "far-right" party. They are very focused on British identity. They want to "keep Britain British" by limiting people from other countries moving to the UK. The party was led by Nick Griffin from 1999 to 2014. The current leader of the BNP is Adam Walker.

The BNP was started in 1982 by John Tyndall (politician).
BNP in Politics
In 2009, the BNP had two members in the European Parliament. These were Nick Griffin and Andrew Brons. The European Parliament is where laws for Europe were discussed. The UK is no longer part of the European Union. The BNP does not have any members in the main UK Parliament, called the House of Commons of the United Kingdom. They also do not have seats in the smaller parliaments in Scotland, Wales, or Northern Ireland. Nick Griffin lost his seat in the European Parliament in 2014.

In November 2012, a new party called the British Democratic Party was started by Andrew Brons. Brons had left the BNP in October 2012. He started his new party because he thought the BNP's ideas were not strong enough. He wanted his new party to replace the BNP.
