Brixton tube station is an important part of the London Underground network. It opened on 23 July 1971 and is the very last stop on the Victoria Line if you're heading south. This means it's the "southern terminus" – the end of the line!
For a while, Brixton was actually the most southern stop on the Northern line. But in 1996, it became part of the Victoria Line instead. This change helped make the tube network even better for everyone.
