List of London railway stations facts for kids
London is a huge city, and it has many train stations! This article is all about the main passenger train stations in and around London. These are the stations for heavy rail trains, which are the big trains that travel longer distances, not the underground Tube trains or trams. There are 356 of these stations, and most of them (340) are right inside London.
These stations are managed by different groups. Some of the biggest ones in central London are looked after by a company called Network Rail. Other stations are managed by the train companies that run most of the services there. Even the London Underground (the Tube) manages some stations that also have heavy rail services.

How London's Train Tickets Work
To make buying tickets easier, London is split into different areas called fare zones. Imagine them like rings on a target!
What are Fare Zones?
There are 6 main fare zones in London.
- Zone 1 is the very centre of London.
- Zones 2-6 are like bigger and bigger rings around Zone 1.
When you travel between stations that are all within Zones 1 to 6, special London ticket prices apply.
Which Stations Are Included?
This list focuses on stations that are part of the National Rail network within these Zones 1 to 6. It also includes Stratford International.
What's Not on This List?
You won't find stations here that are only used by the London Underground (the Tube), Tramlink (trams), or the Docklands Light Railway (DLR). These are different types of train services. Also, some stations are in Zones 7, 8, or 9. These areas are outside Greater London, so the special London ticket prices don't apply there. That's why they are not included in this list.
