Broderick played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for seven seasons, from 1978 to 1984. He played for two teams: the San Diego Padres and the Cleveland Indians. He mostly played as a first baseman.

Starting with the San Diego Padres

Moving to the Cleveland Indians

Broderick played for the Cleveland Indians during the 1983 and 1984 seasons. During his time with the Indians, he played both in the outfield and at first base. His last game in Major League Baseball was on September 23, 1984. The Indians released him from their team on October 15, 1984.
