Brook Kerr is an American actress. She is well-known for her role as Whitney Russell on the NBC soap opera Passions. She played this character from 1999 to 2007. Since 2020, she has been playing Dr. Portia Robinson on the ABC soap opera General Hospital.

Early Life and First Roles
Brook Kerr was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. After finishing high school, she moved to Los Angeles. She wanted to become an actress.
Her first TV appearance was in 1996. She was in an episode of the UPN sitcom Moesha. She also appeared in other popular shows. These included The Wayans Bros., Saved by the Bell: The New Class, and The Steve Harvey Show. She also guest-starred in Hang Time, Smart Guy, and City Guys.
Becoming a Soap Opera Star
In 1999, Brook Kerr got a big role. She was cast in a new soap opera called Passions on NBC. She played Whitney Russell Harris from the very first episode in 1999 until 2007. Her performance earned her nominations for two Soap Opera Digest Awards. She was also nominated for an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actress in a Daytime Drama Series.
She also appeared in music videos. She was in Kenny Chesney's video for "Everybody Wants to Go to Heaven" in 2008. She was also in 3T's music video "Why" with Michael Jackson in 1995.
Later Career and New Roles
After Passions, Brook Kerr continued acting. She starred with John Larroquette in the Hallmark Channel movie McBride: Dogged. She also had a recurring role on the CBS show Cane.
In 2008, she played Tara Thornton in the first pilot episode of the HBO series True Blood. However, another actress, Rutina Wesley, later took over the role. Brook Kerr also made guest appearances on many crime dramas. These included CSI: Miami, NCIS: Los Angeles, and Hawaii Five-O. She also appeared in Westworld.
She also acted in television movies. These included Flower Girl (2009) and This Magic Moment (2013). In 2020, Brook Kerr joined the cast of the ABC soap opera General Hospital. She plays Dr. Portia Robinson on the show. In 2023, she was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.
