History

Browns Spring once had its own post office. It opened in 1912, which was a long time ago! This post office helped people send and receive mail in the area. It stayed open for many years, finally closing its doors in 1939.

The community gets its name from a natural spring nearby. This spring was named after a person named Burton Brown. He was one of the first people to settle in the area, making him a "pioneer citizen." Sometimes, people also called the place "Brown Springs."
