Bruce Herbert Glover (born May 2, 1932 – died March 12, 2025) was an American actor. He was known for playing many different kinds of roles, often supporting characters rather than the main hero. One of his most famous roles was Mr. Wint, a bad guy, in the James Bond movie Diamonds Are Forever (1971). He also appeared in other well-known films like Walking Tall (1973), Chinatown (1974), and Hard Times (1975).

Bruce Glover was also the father of another actor, Crispin Glover.

Life and Career

Bruce Glover was born in Chicago, Illinois. His family had roots from England, Czech Republic, and Sweden.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955, including six months in Korea.

Glover started his acting career by appearing in many television shows. Some of these included My Favorite Martian (1963), Perry Mason (1965), Gunsmoke (1969), and Mission: Impossible (1970). He also appeared in CHiPs (1978) and The Dukes of Hazzard (1979).

In 1971, Bruce Glover played Mr. Wint, one of the main bad guys, in the James Bond film Diamonds Are Forever. He worked alongside jazz musician Putter Smith, who played Mr. Kidd, the other villain.

He also had roles in the drama Bless the Beasts and Children (1971), and played Duffy in Chinatown (1974). In Hard Times (1975), he played a character named Doty. He even appeared as a Soviet military officer in an episode of The Six Million Dollar Man.

Glover was also known for playing Deputy Grady Coker in the film Walking Tall (1973). He continued this role in the sequels, Walking Tall Part 2 (1975) and Walking Tall: Final Chapter (1977). Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, he kept busy with guest roles on TV shows like Hart to Hart (1981), The A-Team (1983), and Murder, She Wrote (1989). He also appeared in movies such as Ghost Town (1988) and Popcorn (1991).

Besides acting, Glover also taught acting classes. He started teaching in the 1950s and later had acting studios in Los Angeles, California.

In the 1990s and early 2000s, he continued to appear in films like Night of the Scarecrow (1995) and Ghost World (2001).

Death

Bruce Glover passed away on March 12, 2025. His son, Crispin Glover, shared the news on social media on March 29, remembering his father with many personal and professional photos.
