Bruce Gray (born September 7, 1936 – died December 13, 2017) was a Canadian actor. He was well-known for his many roles in movies and television shows. He acted for more than five decades!

Early Life and Education

Bruce Gray was born in Puerto Rico. In 1949, he moved to Toronto, Canada. He went to Humberside Collegiate for high school. Later, he studied at the University of Toronto. He earned a Master's degree in Psychology there. While at university, he was an active member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity.

Famous TV Roles

Canadian audiences might remember him best from the TV series Traders. He played Adam Cunningham, an investment banker, for four seasons. He also played Judge J.E. Reilly on the show Passions. On the TV show Medium, he played the ghost of Joe's father.

Science Fiction Appearances

Bruce Gray was also a familiar face in science fiction. He played Sky Marshall Dienes in the movie Starship Troopers. He appeared on Babylon 5 as an interrogator. On Star Trek: Enterprise, he played the Vulcan philosopher Surak. He also appeared several times on Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. In those shows, he played Admiral Chekote.

Gray also appeared in many soap operas. He had a role on The Edge of Night, playing Owen Madison. He was also in a print and internet ad campaign for Amstel beer. In these ads, he played the leader of a made-up group.
