Bruce R. Lindsey, born in 1948, is an American lawyer. He also works as a leader for non-profit organizations. He worked in the White House when Bill Clinton was President. Lindsey was also a partner at a law firm called Wright, Lindsey & Jennings in Little Rock, Arkansas. Later, he became the chairman of the Clinton Foundation.

Early Life and Education

Bruce Lindsey went to Rhodes College and earned a bachelor's degree. He then studied law at Georgetown University Law Center. He became a lawyer in Arkansas in 1975. Later, he was also able to practice law in Washington, D.C., starting in 1999.

Career in Politics and Law

Lindsey began his career working for Senator J. William Fulbright in 1968. This is where he first met Bill Clinton. From 1979 to 1981, he worked for former United States Senator David Pryor. After that, Lindsey became a partner at the law firm Wright, Lindsey & Jennings in Little Rock, Arkansas. He still works there as a special advisor.

Working with President Clinton

During Bill Clinton's campaign to become President in 1992, Lindsey was the National Campaign Director. This meant he helped lead the entire campaign across the country. When Clinton was President for eight years, Lindsey held several important roles in the White House. He was an Assistant to the President, a Senior Advisor, and a Deputy White House Counsel. In 1993, Lindsey also directed the Office of Presidential Personnel. In this role, he helped choose and approve people for important government jobs.

Later Career and Foundation Work

In 1996, during a time when some questions were raised about a land deal, Lindsey's name came up in a legal case. He was not charged with any wrongdoing, and the case was later dropped. In 1998, when President Clinton faced questions about his personal conduct, Lindsey was asked to give information to a special investigation.

In 2001, Lindsey joined the Clinton Foundation. He started as the general counsel, which means he was the main lawyer for the foundation. From 2003 to 2013, he served as the CEO, or chief executive officer, of the foundation. He split his time between the foundation's offices in New York and Little Rock.
