Today, he is a quarterbacks coach for the William & Mary Tribe football team.

Early Life and High School Football

Bryan Jemar Randall was born on August 16, 1983, in Charleston, West Virginia. He went to Bruton High School in Williamsburg, Virginia. There, he set new school records for passing yards and total offense. He also played on the school's 2000 AA State Championship basketball team.

College Football Career

Bryan Randall played college football for the Virginia Tech Hokies. In 2001, he was a backup quarterback. He got more playing time in 2002 when the starting quarterback was injured. In one game against Syracuse, Randall threw for 504 yards and five touchdowns. This set a new record for the Big East Conference.

In 2003, Randall played both basketball and football for Virginia Tech. He shared quarterback duties that season. By 2004, he was the main starting quarterback. He led his team to their first ACC (Atlantic Coast Conference) Championship. They also played in the 2005 Sugar Bowl. Randall's great performance earned him a spot in Virginia Tech's sports hall of fame.

Professional Football Journey

Even though Bryan Randall had a successful college career, no NFL teams drafted him in 2005. He was signed by the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent. This means a team signs a player who wasn't chosen in the draft.

NFL Teams

Randall joined the Atlanta Falcons in April 2005. He was later signed to their practice squad. In 2006, he moved to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' practice squad. In 2007, he signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers, hoping for a chance to play quarterback. He was released after the preseason.

Canadian and Indoor Football

After his time in the NFL, Randall played in other football leagues.

  • In 2008, he signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the CFL (Canadian Football League).
  • In 2010, he joined the Richmond Revolution in the IFL (Indoor Football League). He had an amazing season, throwing for 58 touchdowns and running for 12 more. He was named the IFL Most Valuable Player (MVP) for 2010.
  • He later played for the Richmond Raiders in 2011, but an injury ended his season early.
  • In 2012, he played for the Allen Wranglers and then the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks. He also played for the Pittsburgh Power in the AFL (Arena Football League).
  • In 2013, Randall played for the Laredo Rattlesnakes in the LSFL (Lone Star Football League). He led the league in passing yards and was named the LSFL MVP.
  • From 2014 to 2015, he was a backup quarterback for the Philadelphia Soul in the AFL.
  • In 2016, he played for the Duke City Gladiators.
  • He was then drafted by the Qingdao Clipper in the CAFL (China Arena Football League). He was their starting quarterback and helped them reach the first China Bowl. He was also named an All-Pro North Division All-Star.
  • In 2018, Randall joined the Richmond Roughriders.

Coaching Career

Bryan Randall started his coaching career in February 2025. He became the quarterbacks coach for the William & Mary Tribe football team.
