Bryan Terry (born October 27, 1968) is an American doctor and politician. He is from the state of Tennessee. As a member of the Republican Party, he has served in the Tennessee House of Representatives since 2015. He represents the 48th district, which includes parts of Murfreesboro. He is also the only Native American serving in the Tennessee House.
Early Life and Education
Bryan Terry was born in Oklahoma. Growing up, he worked in his family's business, which involved auto parts. He later attended the University of Oklahoma. He also studied at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine.
After finishing his education, Terry became a doctor. He worked in both Oklahoma and Tennessee. In 1995, he helped care for people affected by the Oklahoma City bombing. This was a very serious event.
Political Career in Tennessee
In 2014, Bryan Terry decided to run for office. The person who held the 48th district seat, Joe Carr, was running for a different position. Terry ran in the Republican primary election. This election helps decide who will represent the party.
Terry won the primary election, even though he spent less money than his opponents. He received 34% of the votes. After that, he easily won the main election. He became the representative for the 48th district.
Since 2015, Terry has continued to win his elections. His district usually votes for Republican candidates. He won easily in 2016 and 2018.
In 2023, Bryan Terry supported a decision to remove three lawmakers. These lawmakers were from the Democratic Party. They were removed for breaking rules about how people should act in the legislature. This event was seen as very unusual.

Bryan Terry lives in Murfreesboro. He lives there with his wife, Cheryl, and their two children. He is a member of the Choctaw Nation. This means he is part of a Native American tribe.
