Budd is a small, quiet place in Livingston County, Illinois, in the United States. It's known as an "unincorporated community." This means it's a group of homes and buildings that isn't officially a town or city with its own local government. Budd is located in Sunbury Township.

You can find Budd about 13 kilometers (8 miles) southeast of Streator. It's also about 11 kilometers (7 miles) west of Dwight. If you send mail to Budd, you would use the ZIP code 61313.

History of Budd

Budd was once an important stop along the Three-I Railroad. This railroad is now part of the CSX system. The community was located almost exactly halfway between the cities of Streator and Dwight.

In the early 1900s, Budd was a busy little spot. Around 1909, a man named William Cahill managed the town's grain elevator. This was a big building used to store grain from local farms. Another person, John Hughes, ran the general store. This store likely sold everything from food to tools. Budd also had its own post office back then, which helped people send and receive mail. Today, the post office is no longer open, and Budd remains a small, peaceful community.
