History of Buena Vista
Buena Vista was built along the tracks of the Nevada County Narrow Gauge Railroad. It even had its own train station.
The Buena Vista Station was an important spot for a while. It was like a crossroads for miners heading to the "You Bet" and "Red Dog" mines nearby.
The train station was taken down in 1943. This happened when parts of the old railroad were being reused or recycled. Today, the exact spot where the station stood has been found. It is on private land called King of Games Farm. The owner of the farm makes sure this historic spot is protected.
