Bun'an facts for kids
Bun'an (文安) was a special name for a period of time in Japan. It was like a "year name" or nengō. This era came after the Kakitsu era and before the Hotoku era. The Bun'an period started in February 1444 and ended in July 1449. During these years, Emperor Go-Hanazono was the ruler of Japan.
Key Events of the Bun'an Era
- 1444 (Bun'an 1, 4th month): In the first year of the Bun'an era, a large fire happened. This fire destroyed a famous shrine called Kitano Tenman-gū. It also burned down a big part of western Kyoto.
