Bunker Hill was first planned out in 1855. Its name was chosen to remember an important event in American history: the Battle of Bunker Hill. This famous battle happened during the American Revolutionary War.
A post office was opened in Bunker Hill in 1855, the same year the town was founded. This post office helped people send and receive mail for many years. However, it eventually closed down in 1904, which was a sign that the town was becoming less active. Over time, people moved away, and Bunker Hill became a forgotten place.
