Bunkyō (文京区, Bunkyō-ku) is one of the 23 special wards that make up the heart of Tokyo, Japan.
This area is often called "Bunkyo City" in English. It is a busy and important part of Tokyo, known for its many schools, universities, and cultural spots.

A Look Back in Time: Bunkyō's History
Bunkyō was officially created on March 15, 1947. It was formed by joining two older areas called Hongō and Koishikawa. This merger helped shape the Bunkyō we know today.
Where is Bunkyō?
Bunkyō is located right in the middle of Tokyo. It shares its borders with several other important areas. To the south, you'll find Shinjuku and Chiyoda. On its western side is Toshima. To the north, it borders Kita, and to the east, you'll find Taitō.
