What's Inside the Observatory?

Inside the observatory, you'll find a powerful telescope. It's a Warner & Swasey refracting telescope. This type of telescope uses lenses to make distant objects look closer. Its main lens, called an objective, is about 13 and 3/8 inches wide. It also has two smaller "finder" telescopes. These help astronomers locate objects more easily. One finder is 4 inches wide, and the other is 1 inch wide.
