Byron Robinson (born May 10, 1995) is an American track and field athlete. He is known for competing in the 400 metres hurdles race. His best time in this event is 48.58 seconds. In 2016, he finished second at the U.S. Olympic Trials. This earned him a spot on the American Olympic team.

Byron Robinson's Athletic Journey
Byron Robinson was born in Chesapeake, Virginia. He went to Western Branch High School and was a star on their track team. In 2013, he won two relay events at the New Balance Outdoor Nationals.
After high school, Byron attended Penn State University. He ran for the Penn State Nittany Lions track team in 2014. After one year, he decided to transfer. He moved to the University of Texas at Austin. There, he joined the Texas Longhorns track team.
College Track Achievements
In 2015, Byron did well at the Big 12 Conference indoor championship. He finished second in the 600 meters race. He also helped his Texas team get third place in the 4 × 400-meter relay. This was at the 2015 NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships.
In 2016, Byron had a great indoor season. He won the 600 m title at the Big 12 Indoors. He also placed second in a relay race. At the NCAA Indoor Championships, he ran in the 400-meter dash preliminaries. He also helped his relay team finish fourth.
Road to the Olympics
Byron's outdoor season in 2016 was even better. He set a new personal best in the 400 m hurdles. His time of 49.10 seconds was the fastest for an American that season. He won the hurdles at the Big 12 Conference.
He then competed at the 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials. Byron improved his time again to 48.79 seconds. He finished second, right behind former world champion Kerron Clement. This amazing performance meant he would represent the United States at the 2016 Summer Olympics.
At the Olympics in Rio, Byron made it to the semifinals. He ran his fastest time ever, but he did not qualify for the final race.
