Byron Russell (1884 – 1963) was an Irish actor. He was known for playing many different characters in movies and on stage. His most famous role was Quintal in the 1935 film Mutiny on the Bounty.

Byron Russell was born in Ireland in 1884. He began his acting career on the Broadway stage in 1913. Broadway is a famous theater district in New York City. He performed in plays there until 1959. One notable play was the 1929 revival of Eugene O'Neill's Glencairn series.

Russell's first movie appearance was in 1920. It was an American silent film called The World and His Wife. Silent films had no spoken dialogue. Actors used their expressions and body language to tell the story.
