Cacau Show is a super popular Brazilian company that makes delicious chocolates! It's based in a city called Itapevi, in the São Paulo state of Brazil. A young guy named Alexandre Tadeu da Costa started this company in 1988 when he was just seventeen years old. He began by selling chocolate Easter eggs right to people's doors, using catalogs.

The Story of Cacau Show
How Cacau Show Started
In 1988, Alexandre Costa needed some money to kick off his chocolate dream. He borrowed $500 from a family member. He used this money to buy ingredients and molds to make his own chocolates. Alexandre started his small business in a neighborhood called Casa Verde, in the northern part of São Paulo.
From these humble beginnings, his business grew bigger and bigger. It became a huge company that makes and sells chocolates. Today, Cacau Show has more than 3,700 stores all over Brazil! These stores get their chocolates from a giant factory located outside São Paulo. In 2022, all these stores together made over R$ 4.1 billion in sales. Not long after starting, Alexandre invited his high-school friend, Sergio Butuem, to join the company.
Growing into a Chocolate Giant
The very first Cacau Show store opened its doors in 2001. After that, the company started growing super fast, opening many more stores. By 2008, Cacau Show became the biggest chocolate store chain in the world! It even passed the American company, Rocky Mountain.
Today, Cacau Show is one of the top three biggest franchise businesses in Brazil. A franchise means that many different people own and run stores under the same company name. This amazing company produces more than 50 million pounds of chocolate every single year!
Awards and Future Plans
Cacau Show and its founder, Alexandre, have won some cool awards. In 2011, they won the Ernst&Young Entrepreneur of the Year prize in Brazil. This meant Alexandre got to represent Brazil in a worldwide competition in Monaco! Then, in 2013, Cacau Show won the World Retail Awards in France. They were named the "Emerging Market Retailer of the Year."
The company keeps growing quickly by opening new stores in big cities and places where there weren't many chocolate shops before. Cacau Show is now in more than 1,000 cities across Brazil. In the future, the company hopes to expand internationally and open stores in other countries too!
