Where the River Starts

The Cadagua River gets its name from a small village where its first spring is located. This village, also called Cadagua, is found in the Valle de Mena in Burgos, Spain. It is surrounded by the beautiful "La Peña" mountains.

How the River is Used

For many years, people have used the power of the Cadagua River.

Making Electricity

Today, four small hydropower plants use the river's flow to produce electricity. This is a clean way to generate power.

Old Mills

Before modern electricity, the river's water power was used by many mills. These mills helped grind grain or do other work. You can still see some of these old mills along the river today. They are a reminder of how people used to live and work.

A Company Named After the River

There is a company called Cadagua that takes its name from this river. This company focuses on designing, planning, and building water treatment plants. Their work helps to clean water and protect the environment.
