The Cairo International Stadium (Arabic: ستاد القاهرة الدولي) is a huge sports stadium in Nasr City, Cairo, Egypt. It's built for many sports, especially football, and can hold 75,000 people. It used to be called Nasser Stadium.
A German architect named Werner March designed the stadium. He also designed the Olympic Stadium in Berlin. The stadium was finished in 1960 and opened on July 23, 1960, by Gamal Abdel Nasser, who was the President of Egypt. Today, it's the 69th largest stadium in the world! The famous Egyptian football teams, Al Ahly and Zamalek, play most of their home games here.

About Cairo International Stadium
The stadium is located about 10 kilometers (6 miles) west of Cairo International Airport. It's also about 10 kilometers from downtown Cairo. In 2005, the stadium was updated. This was to get it ready for the 2006 Africa Cup of Nations, a big football tournament.
Cairo Stadium is famous for its amazing atmosphere. When big matches happen, the stadium is full of cheering fans. It's a very important symbol for Egyptian football. Most of Egypt's biggest football matches are played here. It was also the main stadium for the 1991 All-Africa Games, which is a multi-sport event for African countries.

How to Get to the Stadium
The stadium is in Nasr City, a part of Cairo. You can easily get there using public transport.
Metro and Monorail Access
You can take the Cairo Metro to the stadium. There's a special station called "Cairo Stadium" on Line 3. There's also a "Fair Zone" station nearby on the same line. A new Cairo Monorail station is planned to open in front of the stadium in 2023.

Stadium Facts and History
- The stadium is the home ground for the Egypt national football team.
- It hosted the final of the 2006 Africa Cup of Nations. Egypt won this match against Ivory Coast in a penalty shootout after a 0-0 draw.
- For the 2006 tournament, the stadium was updated. Its capacity changed from 85,000 to 75,000 seats. Blue zigzag patterns were added to the seats.
- Later, the running track around the field was changed from blue to orange. This new look was first seen on November 14, 2009, during a match where Egypt beat Algeria 2-0.
- Cairo International Stadium was part of Egypt's plan to host the 2010 FIFA World Cup. However, Egypt's bid was not successful.
- In 2020, it hosted the 2020 CAF Champions League final. In this exciting match, Al Ahly SC won 2-1 against their big rivals, Zamalek SC.
