Caitlin Cherry (born 1987) is an African-American artist. She is known for her paintings and sculptures. She also works as an educator.

Early Life and Education
Caitlin Cherry was born in 1987 in Chicago, Illinois. She studied art at several well-known schools. In 2010, she earned her first degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She then received her master's degree from Columbia University in 2012. Before that, she also attended the Yale University Summer School of Art in 2009.
Art and Career
Caitlin Cherry is a professor of Painting and Printmaking. She teaches at Virginia Commonwealth University. In 2021, she helped create an online art education program. It is called Dark Study. This program aims to make art education more fair and accessible. It helps address issues of fairness in universities.
Cherry's art explores important ideas. She often looks at how black women are shown in art. She also examines how power structures work. Her artwork uses different methods. She combines sculpture, installations, and painting.

In 2013, she had a show called Hero Safe at the Brooklyn Museum. This show was part of a special project. It was called Raw/Cooked. The project invited Brooklyn artists to have their first big museum shows. Cherry was the ninth artist in this series. For her show, she made large wooden structures. These were inspired by drawings from Leonardo da Vinci. They held up her paintings. One example is her work Dual Capable Catapult Artcraft "Your Last Supper, Sucker," from 2013.
