Calaf is a small town in Catalonia, Spain. It is located in the northern part of the Anoia region, which is called a comarca. A comarca is like a county or district. Calaf sits on a flat area known as the Calaf Plain.
This town is important for its weekly market. Farmers and traders come here to buy and sell livestock, like cows and sheep. Calaf is also a key spot for travel. It is on the main N-II road, which connects Barcelona to Lleida. A railway line also runs through Calaf, linking Manresa to Lleida.
You can also reach Calaf using the C-1412 road from Igualada to Ponts. A newer highway, the C25, also has an exit for Calaf. This highway goes across Catalonia from Girona to Lleida. High above the town, you can see the old Calaf castle. Its remains stand on a hilltop, watching over the area.
