Calling All Engines! is an exciting animated movie from 2005. It's a special adventure from the popular TV show, Thomas & Friends. This film was made by HIT Entertainment and was released in the United States on September 6, 2005. Fans in the United Kingdom could watch it starting October 3, 2005. It was the first long Thomas movie since Thomas and the Magic Railroad in 2000. Even though characters like Lady and Diesel 10 appear, it's a brand new story.

The Story of Calling All Engines!

This movie tells a big story about teamwork on the Island of Sodor. It shows how important it is for everyone to get along.

Building a New Airport

One sunny summer day, the Fat Controller announces exciting news. A brand new airport will be built on Sodor! This airport will bring more visitors to the island. But not everyone is happy. The diesel engines, especially Arry and Bert, start causing trouble. They think diesels are better than steam engines. This leads to lots of arguments and playful bumps between the engines.

Trouble at Tidmouth Sheds

Because of all the fighting, important work gets delayed. Tidmouth Sheds, where many engines sleep, needs repairs. But the work isn't finished on time. This means all the engines have to sleep in different places. Thomas sleeps with Emily, while James is at the Coaling Plant. Henry and Percy are at the Smelter's Yards. Even Gordon has to sleep under a tent!

A Big Storm and More Problems

One night, a huge storm hits Sodor. The Sodor Suspension Bridge collapses! The next morning, the Fat Controller tells everyone to clear up the damage. Thomas works hard to fix the bridge. But the arguments between steam engines and diesels continue. Thomas and Diesel even get into a paint fight! All the fighting slows down the airport construction.

The Fat Controller's Warning

The Fat Controller is very upset about the delays. He warns the engines that if they don't work together, the airport might not open. This could even mean the railway would go out of business! The engines have scary dreams about what might happen. James dreams of becoming a coconut shy at a funfair. Gordon dreams of being a playground.

Thomas's Dream and a New Idea

Thomas has a different dream. He sees Lady the Magic Engine and Rusty. They remind him about the power of teamwork. The next morning, Thomas realizes something important. He talks to Mavis, a friendly diesel. They decide to arrange a meeting for all the steam engines and diesels.

Working Together for Sodor

At the meeting, Thomas suggests a big change. He proposes that steam engines and diesels should stop fighting. They must work together to save the airport project. Everyone agrees! Soon, the airport is almost finished. The first airplane is ready to land.

A Final Challenge

Just when everything seems perfect, there's another problem. Thomas accidentally derails some trucks. They hit the water tower, which crashes onto the runway! The runway cracks, and the airplane can't land. Thomas bravely asks Diesel 10 for help. Diesel 10, along with Arry and Bert, agrees to assist. With their help, George fixes the runway just in time. The airplane lands safely!

Happy Endings

That evening, all the engines are happy. Tidmouth Sheds is finally rebuilt. Emily is especially pleased to find a new berth built just for her. The movie teaches everyone that working together makes the best team!
