Calvin Brock (born in 1986) is an American professional basketball player. He grew up in Chicago, Illinois. Calvin was a star player at Simeon Career Academy in high school. He was also a member of the National Honor Society. In 2004, he led his high school team to the state quarterfinals. He was named a First-Team All-State player by the Chicago Tribune. People called him "the Public League's best all-around player." He averaged 22 points, 10 rebounds, five steals, four assists, and four blocks per game.

College Basketball Career
Calvin Brock started playing college basketball in 2005. He joined the team at the University of Illinois. He wore jersey number 25 to honor Benjamin "Benji" Wilson Jr.. Other players from Simeon High School, like Nick Anderson and Deon Thomas, also wore this number.
Playing for Illinois
During his junior year, Calvin scored a total of 258 points. In his senior year, he often played as the "sixth man." This means he was usually the first player to come off the bench. He averaged 4.9 points and 3.0 rebounds in about 17 minutes per game. Calvin earned his bachelor's degree in Sports Management.
Professional Basketball Career
After college, Calvin Brock was not chosen by any team in the National Basketball Association (NBA). So, he began his professional career playing basketball in Germany. He played professionally in Europe for three seasons.
Injury and New Plans
In 2012, Calvin suffered an injury to his right knee. He tore a ligament called the LCL. He returned to Chicago to recover from his injury. During this time, he started thinking about becoming a basketball coach.
