Calvin Anthony Duncan (born March 21, 1961) is an American pastor and a former professional basketball player. He is known for his time playing basketball at Oak Hill Academy and for the Virginia Commonwealth University Rams. After college, he was chosen in the 1985 NBA draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers. Instead of playing in the NBA, he joined a traveling Christian basketball team called Athletes in Action. Today, he serves as a pastor at the Faith & Family Church in Richmond, Virginia.

High School Achievements
Calvin Duncan was a talented basketball player from a young age. During the 1980–81 season, he set a record at Oak Hill Academy. He scored an amazing 61 points in just one game. This was the most points ever scored by a player for the school at that time. Later, another player named Brandon Jennings broke this record. He scored 63 points in a single game.
College Success at VCU
After high school, Calvin Duncan played college basketball for the Virginia Commonwealth University Rams. He was a very important player for his team. He is even a member of the VCU Rams Hall of Fame. In 1983, when he was a sophomore, he received a special award. He was named the Sun Belt Conference co-Player of the Year. He shared this award with Charlie Bradley from the University of South Florida.
Professional Path
After finishing his college basketball career, Calvin Duncan was chosen in the 1985 NBA draft. The Cleveland Cavaliers picked him in the second round. He was the 30th player chosen overall in that draft. Even though he was drafted by an NBA team, he decided not to play in the NBA. Instead, he chose to join Athletes in Action. This was an evangelical Christian traveling team. He did play professional basketball in another league. He played in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) for teams like the Cedar Rapids Silver Bullets and the Tri-City Chinook.

Early Life and Education
Calvin Duncan had a challenging start to his life. His mother passed away when he was born. He did not know his father. Because of this, his aunt raised him in Linden, New Jersey. He later moved to Oak Hill Academy after his junior year at Linden High School. He hoped that moving would help him get the grades he needed. Good grades were important to play Division I college basketball. He succeeded in his studies. At Virginia Commonwealth University, he earned a degree in criminal justice.
Family and Ministry
Today, Calvin Duncan lives in Richmond, Virginia. He is married to his wife, Barbara. They have three children together: Richard, Chelsea, and Azell. Besides his family life, Calvin Duncan is also a pastor. He leads the Faith & Family Church in Richmond, Virginia.
