Camille Jones's Music Journey
Camille Jones was born in Skanderborg and grew up in Aarhus, both cities in Denmark. She also spent a year in the United States as an exchange student. Her music career officially began in 2000.
Early Success and First Album
In 2000, Camille released her first album, simply called Camille Jones. This album quickly became popular in Denmark and across Europe. It included well-known songs like Daddy Would Say and Nothing Comes From Nothing.
The Rise of "The Creeps"
Her second album, Surrender, came out in 2004. This album featured the song The Creeps. The first music video for The Creeps was even nominated for a Danish Music Award in 2005.
A Dutch DJ and producer named Fedde le Grand heard the song and decided to make a special dance remix. This remix started playing on radio stations all over Europe and in the UK in early 2007. When it was officially released, The Creeps became a massive hit. It reached number 7 on the UK Single Charts and topped the Dance Charts at number 1.
More Albums and Collaborations
Camille's third album, Barking Up The Wrong Tree, was released in Scandinavia in 2008. This album featured popular dance singles such as Difficult Guys, I Am (What You Want Me To Be), and Get Me Out. Music videos were also made for some of these songs.
In January 2011, Camille Jones worked with other Danish artists like Kato, Ida Corr, and Johnson. They released a Danish-language dance song called Sjus, which immediately went to number 1 on the Danish Single charts.
