Early Life and Studies

Camille Kerger was born on February 9, 1957. His hometown is Redange-sur-Attert in central Luxembourg. He loved music from a young age. He studied many musical instruments and skills. He learned to play the trombone, sing, and compose music. He went to music schools in Luxembourg, Metz (France), Mannheim, and Düsseldorf (Germany). He finished his studies with a degree in singing.

Musical Career

Camille Kerger started his career as a trombonist. He played in several orchestras. These included the RTL Symphony Orchestra and the Trier Theatre Orchestra. He was also part of the European Union Youth Orchestra twice. This is a special orchestra for young musicians from Europe. He also played in many smaller music groups.

As an opera singer, Camille Kerger is a tenor. This means he sings high male vocal parts. He has performed in many places across Europe. He even shared the stage with famous singers. These include Barbara Hendricks and James Bowman. He also worked with well-known conductors. Some of these were Leopold Hager and Robert King.

In 1996, he helped create the Théâtre National du Luxembourg. This is the National Theatre of Luxembourg. He was the director of this theatre until 2006. Today, he leads the Institut Européen de Chant Choral in Luxembourg. This institute focuses on choir singing. Since 2007, he has been a member of the Grand Ducal Institute. This group focuses on art and literature.
