About the Teams and the Big Win
This season featured four awesome teams:
- E-Bash: Ashlee Mather and Ebony Roach
- Shorties: Harley and Ty Telford
- L.A. Blitz: Ally and Lauren
- Gromstars: Jake and Sean Ryan
The winners of the entire competition were E-Bash, made up of Ebony Roach and Ashlee Mather from Victoria, Australia.
Day 1: The Haunted House Mystery
The teams arrived at Raven Hall, which is known as one of the most haunted houses in Australia. As they entered, they heard spooky organ music! Soon, they found Maude, who asked them about the mysterious music.
Maude then told the teams that Raven Hall used to belong to a man named Earl Edgar Bird. She played a tape where the Earl himself appeared. He explained that after a trip around the world, he and his loyal helper, Roderick, brought back a cursed crystal from the Amazon. This crystal, called The Emerald Eye, made Raven Hall haunted!
The Earl explained that the only way to stop the haunting was to return The Emerald Eye to the Amazon. Since he couldn't do it, it was now up to the teams! He had hidden the Emerald Eye somewhere on his property. The teams had to prove themselves by finding it so it could be returned. They would face challenges similar to those he faced on his world travels.
Challenge 1: Muddy Relic Hunt
The first challenge was inspired by the Earl and Roderick's adventures in Africa.
In this challenge, team members were tied back-to-back. They had to work together to find hidden relics buried in thick mud. It was a messy but fun way to start their quest!
Challenge 2: Mummy Come Home Race
Next, the teams faced a challenge inspired by the Earl and Roderick's tangled adventures in Egypt.
One team member was dressed up like an Egyptian mummy. Their partner had to quickly unwrap and free them from a sarcophagus (a special coffin). After that, the sarcophagus was filled with treasure. The teams then had to roll it to the finish line.
Here's how the teams finished:
- 1st Place: The Shorties
- 2nd Place: The Gromstars
- 3rd Place: L.A. Blitz
- 4th Place: E-Bash
Den of Secrets: Day 1 Clues
After the challenges, the teams checked their key tally. The Shorties were leading with 4 keys, and the Gromstars had 3. Both girl teams, L.A. Blitz and E-Bash, had 2 keys each.
- Cryptic Clue Winner: The Shorties
- Cellar Of Lost Soles Winner: L.A. Blitz
Later, The Shorties collected another piece of Roderick's travel map and a roll of film. Roderick was excited and announced that their next stops would be Greece and Tibet. For L.A. Blitz's dare, they had to eat something called 'monkey eyeballs' (which were probably just a fun, gross-looking snack!).
Day 2: Global Adventures Continue
Challenge 1: Rebuilding the Pillars of Hercules
Roderick knew that in Greece, the famous pillars of Hercules once showed where a valuable artifact was hidden. But when Roderick and the Earl got there, the place was in ruins. So, the teams had to rebuild the pillars stone by stone.
The goal was to stack the stones correctly, with the largest stone at the bottom and the smallest on top. If they built it right, it would show them where an artifact was hidden. The first team to bring the artifact back to Maude won!
Here were the results:
- 1st Place: E-Bash
- Unfinished: The Shorties, The Gromstars, and L.A. Blitz
Challenge 2: The Abominable Foot Race
This challenge was inspired by Roderick and the Earl's shortcut across Mount Everest. The snow had melted, revealing a Yeti's foot that was starting to thaw! They had to rescue it quickly.
At the start, both teammates were on the same pair of skis. They skied to buckets of ice and had to put as many ice cubes as they could into their waterproof pants. Then, they went to a basket and filled it to a certain line with ice cubes to keep the Yeti foot cold. After that, they took off the skis, put on special gumboots filled with slime (called 'Yeti snot'), loaded their cargo, and raced to the finish line!
Here's how they placed:
- 1st Place: The Shorties and L.A. Blitz (tied)
- 2nd Place: E-Bash
- 3rd Place: The Gromstars
Den of Secrets: Day 2 Clues
After the second day's challenges, the key tally showed The Shorties still in the lead with 6 keys. E-Bash had 5 keys, and both L.A. Blitz and The Gromstars had 4 keys each.
- Cryptic Clue Winner: E-Bash
- Cellar Of Lost Soles Winner: L.A. Blitz
Later, E-Bash collected the next piece of the map. Roderick announced that their next adventures would take them to China and Borneo. For L.A. Blitz's dare, they had to wash Roderick's socks – yuck!
