Candice King (born Candice Accola on May 13, 1987) is an American actress. She is most famous for playing Caroline Forbes in the popular supernatural TV show The Vampire Diaries. She also played the same character in the spin-off shows The Originals and Legacies.

Early Life and Family
Candice Accola was born in Houston, Texas. Her mother, Carolyn, was an environmental engineer, and her father, Kevin, was a heart surgeon. She grew up in Edgewood, Florida, and went to Lake Highland Preparatory School. She also has a younger brother.
Career
Music Career
Before she was a famous actress, Candice was a singer. In 2006, she released her own album called It's Always the Innocent Ones. She wrote most of the songs on the album herself.
She also toured as a backup singer for Miley Cyrus on her Best of Both Worlds Tour. Candice even appeared in the 3D concert movie, Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert. On The Vampire Diaries, she showed off her singing skills by performing the song "Eternal Flame".
Acting Career
Candice had small roles in TV shows like How I Met Your Mother and Supernatural. In 2009, she also had a small part in The Hannah Montana Movie.
Her big break came in 2009 when she was cast as Caroline Forbes in The Vampire Diaries. The show is based on a popular book series. Caroline is one of the main characters, and Candice's performance won her two Teen Choice Awards.
After The Vampire Diaries ended, Candice continued to play Caroline in two other shows set in the same universe. These are called spin-offs. She appeared in the final season of The Originals in 2018 and later in the final season of Legacies in 2022.
In 2020, she played the character Kimberly in the movie After We Collided.
Personal Life
Candice King supports the It Gets Better Project, an organization that helps young people feel safe and accepted. She has supported this cause with her The Vampire Diaries co-stars, Michael Trevino and Ian Somerhalder.
In 2012, Candice started dating musician Joe King from the band The Fray. They met at a Super Bowl event. They got engaged in May 2013 and were married on October 18, 2014, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Candice became a stepmother to Joe's two daughters from his first marriage.
Candice and Joe have two daughters together. Their first, Florence May, was born in January 2016. Their second, Josephine June, was born in December 2020. In May 2022, Candice and Joe announced they were getting a divorce.
In December 2023, Candice confirmed she was dating actor Steven Krueger. They announced their engagement in May 2025.
