Candice King (born Candice Accola on May 13, 1987) is an American actress. She is most famous for playing Caroline Forbes in the TV show The Vampire Diaries. She also played this character in the spin-off shows The Originals and Legacies.

Early Life and Beginnings
Candice Accola was born in Houston, Texas. Her mother is Carolyn, and her father, Kevin Accola, is a heart surgeon. She grew up in Edgewood, Florida, and went to Lake Highland Preparatory School. Candice has one younger brother.

Music Career Highlights
Candice started her career in music. In December 2006, she released her first album, It's Always the Innocent Ones. She helped write 12 of the 14 songs on the album. The album also included cover songs like "Voices Carry" and "Our Breakup Song."
In 2008, her album was released again in Japan and became more popular there. Candice also sang backup for Miley Cyrus on her Best of Both Worlds Tour. She even appeared in the 2008 concert movie Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert.
In 2011, Candice sang a cover of "Eternal Flame" by The Bangles on an episode of The Vampire Diaries.
Acting Roles and Success
Candice has appeared in many TV shows. Some of these include How I Met Your Mother, Supernatural, and Drop Dead Diva. In 2009, she was in the horror movie Deadgirl. This film was about two high school boys who find an immortal woman. That same year, she had a small part in The Hannah Montana Movie.
Her biggest role came in 2009 when she joined The Vampire Diaries. This show is based on a popular book series. Candice played Caroline Forbes, one of the main characters. Her acting in this show won her two Teen Choice Awards.
In 2012, she also joined the web series Dating Rules From My Future Self. She played Chloe Cunningham, a young woman who gets love advice from her future self through text messages.
Candice returned as Caroline Forbes in the final season of The Vampire Diaries spin-off, The Originals, in 2018. In 2019, she was cast as Kimberly in the movie After We Collided, which came out in 2020. She played Caroline again in 2022 for the final season of Legacies.
Candice's Personal Life
Candice started dating musician Joe King from the band The Fray in 2012. Her friend and co-star Nina Dobrev introduced them. They got engaged in May 2013 and married on October 18, 2014, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Candice became a stepmother to Joe's two daughters from his earlier marriage.
In January 2016, Candice and Joe welcomed their first daughter, Florence May. In December 2020, their second daughter, Josephine June, was born. In May 2022, Candice shared that she had filed for divorce. In December 2023, Candice confirmed she was dating American actor Steven Krueger.
