The Story of Candy Land
Jib's Sweet Journey
The movie begins with a young gingerbread boy named Jib. He is heading to the Sweet Celebration. This is a huge yearly festival where all parts of Candy Land share their best treats. Jib plans to bring his family's special gingerbread icing.
On his way, Jib gets a little sidetracked. He soon meets Mr. Mint, who owns the Peppermint Forest. Mr. Mint is a bit silly. Jib also meets Jolly, a friendly dinosaur from the Gumdrop area. Jib tries to stay focused on getting to the celebration. But his new friends keep getting distracted by all the amazing things around them.
Princess Lolly's Big Task
Meanwhile, Princess Lolly is getting ready for the Sweet Celebration. It's her turn to take over her father, the King's, role. She needs to use her special Lollipop-shaped scepter. This scepter will open a brand new part of Candy Land.
Princess Lolly isn't sure if she's ready to be so responsible. She talks to her sister, Queen Frostine. Queen Frostine tells her she needs to grow up and be responsible. Suddenly, Princess Lolly loses her scepter! Lord Licorice's sneaky bites steal it away. The King also worries if Lolly can handle the task.
Lord Licorice's Evil Plan
At the same time, the mean Lord Licorice has a wicked plan. He wants to take over all of Candy Land. He plans to turn it into a dull, grey, licorice-themed wasteland. He uses his special brewing skills and his helpers, the Licorice Bites.
Lord Licorice often shows up during Jib's journey. He tries to stop Jib and Mr. Mint. They often escape thanks to Jib's gingerbread icing. But Jib slowly loses his precious icing with each escape.
Friends Unite!
Eventually, Jib and Mr. Mint meet Princess Lolly. They also meet Grandma Nut, who helps them on their adventure. They manage to trap Lord Licorice and his bites in peanut butter at Grandma Nut's house.
With time running out, they all rush to the Castle for the celebration. Mr. Mint suggests a shortcut through the Chocolate Swamp. There, they meet Gloppy, a giant monster. Gloppy just wants a hug. Jib gives him a hug, and they become friends. Then, they finally leave for the Castle.
The Sweet Celebration
When they arrive, Lord Licorice tries to ruin the celebration. He tries to capture everyone. But the whole gang works together to stop him. Gloppy returns to help, and Lord Licorice is finally defeated.
The celebration begins! It's Jib's turn to put his gift into the Sweet Circle. But his gingerbread icing is gone! He used it all helping his friends. Jib feels terrible and starts to cry. But as he cries, the Sweet Circle lights up! Everyone realizes they don't need a physical gift to activate it. They just need to follow Jib's example.
Then, Lolly places her scepter in the middle. It floats, and a new part of Candy Land magically opens! Everyone has a great time. Lord Licorice watches, defeated. Jib says goodbye to his friends and heads home after a wonderful adventure.
