Mallory Lewis (born July 8, 1962) is an American writer, television producer, ventriloquist, and puppeteer. She is famous for bringing Lamb Chop to life. Lamb Chop is a fun sock puppet created by Mallory's mother, Shari Lewis.

Early Life and Lamb Chop
Mallory Lewis was born in New York City. Her parents were Jeremy Tarcher and Shari Lewis. Shari Lewis was the amazing person who created Lamb Chop. Growing up, Mallory had a special connection with Lamb Chop. She even used to sleep with the puppet!
Mallory's Career Journey
Mallory Lewis has had an exciting career. She followed in her mother's footsteps, bringing joy to many people.
Working with Her Mother
Mallory worked closely with her mother, Shari Lewis. They produced popular TV shows together. These shows included Lamb Chop's Play-Along and The Charlie Horse Music Pizza. Her father, Jeremy Tarcher, also helped with Shari Lewis's shows on PBS.
Keeping Lamb Chop Alive
After her mother passed away in 1998, Mallory made an important decision. With encouragement from family and friends, she decided that Lamb Chop should continue to entertain fans. In 2009, Mallory started performing with Lamb Chop herself. To honor her mother, she changed her last name to Lewis.
Mallory found she could do Lamb Chop's voice perfectly. She discovered she could make the puppet "talk" without moving her own lips. This is a special skill called ventriloquism. Lamb Chop is known for being a bit "sassy," but always remembers to say "please" and "thank you"!
Writing Books for Kids
Besides puppeteering, Mallory Lewis is also a talented writer. She writes children's books. Some of her books feature a character named Zoey. Zoey is a baby orangutan puppet that Mallory also performs with.
Helping Others Through Performance
Mallory Lewis uses her talents to help many important causes. She performs for military support groups like the USO. She also supports the Fisher House Foundation. These groups help military families. She performs at theaters and state fairs across the country.
In 2002, Mallory helped raise a lot of money for a program at UCLA. She also helped start Jump For The Cause. This group of women skydivers has raised nearly $2 million for breast cancer research.
Awards and Recognition
Mallory Lewis has won an Emmy Award for her writing. She won for Outstanding Writing in a Children's Series. She and her mother even shared an Emmy Award together. In 2014, she received the Sandy Hosey Lifetime Achievement Award.
Lamb Chop's Future
Mallory Lewis hopes to bring Lamb Chop back to television one day. The legacy of Lamb Chop is now also passed on to Mallory's son, James Abraham Tarcher Hood. James often travels with his mother. He helps set up sound and sells merchandise. He is one of the very few people who has put his hand inside Lamb Chop.
