Canoeing at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris was a thrilling competition. Athletes raced in special boats called canoes and kayaks. The events took place at the National Olympic Nautical Stadium of Île-de-France in Vaires-sur-Marne.

The competition had two main types of racing: canoe slalom and canoe sprint. Canoe slalom happened from July 27 to August 5. Canoe sprint races were held from August 6 to August 10.

There were 16 different events in total. This included 8 events for men and 8 for women. Some changes were made to the program this year. For example, some longer races were shortened. Also, a new event called kayak cross was added. This new event helps make the Olympics more equal for both men and women.

How Athletes Qualify

To compete in the Olympics, canoeists and kayakers must qualify. The International Olympic Committee and the International Canoe Federation set the rules. Athletes earn their spots through various international competitions. This ensures only the best compete at the Games.

Countries Competing

About 300 athletes from 58 different countries took part in the canoeing events. Each country sent their top canoeists and kayakers.
