Saúl Craviotto Rivero (born November 3, 1984) is a famous Spanish sprint kayaker. He is also a police officer. Sprint kayaking is a sport where athletes race canoes or kayaks over short distances.

Saúl is one of the most successful Olympic athletes from Spain. He has won six Olympic medals! These include two gold medals, three silver medals, and one bronze medal. He won his first gold medal in 2008 in Beijing. He also won gold in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro.

He was chosen to carry the flag for Spain at the closing ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics. He was also the flag bearer at the opening ceremony of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Saúl has also won many medals at the ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships. He has won four gold medals, five silver medals, and two bronze medals at these championships.

Saúl's Early Life and Family

Saúl Craviotto started kayaking when he was just seven years old. He followed in his father's footsteps, who also kayaked. They even competed in K-2 events together.

Saúl is married to Celia García. They have two daughters, Valentina and Olivia. He asked Celia to marry him in London during the 2012 Olympics. This was the day after he won a silver medal.

Life as a Police Officer

Besides being a top athlete, Saúl Craviotto works as a police officer. He is based in the city of Gijón, Spain. It's amazing how he balances his demanding job with his intense training for kayaking!

TV Appearances

In 2017, Saúl Craviotto showed another one of his talents. He took part in a TV cooking show called MasterChef Celebrity in Spain. He ended up winning the competition!

In 2021, Saúl became the first brand ambassador for Hockerty. This means he helped promote their products.
