MasterChef Celebrity (Spanish TV series) facts for kids

MasterChef Celebrity is a fun Spanish TV show where famous people compete in cooking! It's a special version of the regular MasterChef Spain show. It first aired on La 1 in 2016.

The show used to be hosted by Eva González. But the judges are still the same: Jordi Cruz, Samantha Vallejo-Nágera, and Pepe Rodríguez. They are very famous chefs!

In this show, well-known people from Spain show off their cooking skills. Each week, they try to prove they are the best "Celebrity MasterChef" in Spain. They face many challenges, like cooking alone or in teams. The judges watch closely and decide who cooks the best food.

How the Show Works

Every episode of MasterChef Celebrity follows a similar plan. It has three main cooking challenges. At the end of each episode, one contestant has to leave the show.

First Challenge

This challenge takes place in the TV studios. It changes every episode, making it exciting! After this challenge, the judges pick the best cooks. These top cooks become team captains for the next challenge. Here are some common types of first challenges:

Mystery Box Challenge

In this challenge, contestants get a box with secret ingredients. They must use these ingredients to make a dish. The judges give them rules for what kind of dish to create. Everyone has a limited time to finish their cooking.

Creative Test

This challenge lets the contestants be more creative. They can make almost any dish they want. But the judges always add some special rules or twists. This makes it harder and more interesting!

Pressure Test

Sometimes, a famous chef visits the show. They teach the contestants how to make one of their most famous dishes. Then, the contestants have to try and cook the exact same dish. Other times, the judges themselves cook a dish for the contestants to copy.

Team Challenge

This is the second challenge in each episode. It usually happens outside the MasterChef kitchens. The contestants often cook for a large group of people. The team captains choose their teammates and the dishes they will prepare. The team that loses this challenge has to face the elimination round.

Elimination Test

The winning team gets to watch from a special viewing area. The losing team must cook a dish chosen by the judges. This challenge is often similar to the first challenge. The judges then decide who made the worst dish. That contestant is then eliminated from the show.
