Carlos Roberto Baute Jiménez, known as Carlos Baute, is a famous singer, songwriter, and TV host from Venezuela. He was born in Caracas on March 8, 1974. His music is mostly Latin pop, which is a popular style of music from Latin America. He also sings ballads and Bachata songs.

Carlos Baute's Early Life

Carlos Baute is the youngest child of Alfonso Baute and Clara Jiménez. His father was born in Tenerife, Spain. His mother was born in Venezuela. Both his parents have Spanish family roots. The Baute family name comes from the Guanches, who were the first people to live on the Canary Islands in Spain.

Carlos Baute's Career Journey

Starting in Music and Acting

Carlos Baute began his music career at a young age. In 1987, when he was 13, he joined a music group called Los Chamos. They released an album called Con un poco de Amor in 1990.

After that, Carlos started working as a model. In 1994, he released his first solo album, which was called Orígenes I. He also tried acting. In 1997, he played a swimming instructor named Pedro José in a Venezuelan TV show called Destino de Mujer.

Moving to Spain and Finding Success

With his album Yo nací para querer... (1999), Carlos Baute moved to Spain. There, he became very successful with his music. He also acted in Spanish TV shows like ¡Ala... Dina! and Mis Adorables Vecinos. He even hosted big TV events, such as Gala Miss España and Gala Fin de Año de TVE1.

Carlos has released many albums, including a collection of his greatest hits. On April 1, 2008, he released De Mi Puño y Letra. This album included a very popular song called "Colgando en tus manos". He released two versions of this song: one by himself and one as a duet with Marta Sánchez. This duet became a huge hit, reaching the top of the music charts in many Spanish-speaking countries around the world.

Even though he is very well known in many Spanish-speaking countries, his music has not become as popular in other parts of the world. In October 2012, he released another duet, "Las cosas que no me espero", with the famous singer Laura Pausini.

Carlos Baute has lived in Spain since the late 1990s and is now also a Spanish citizen.

Speaking Out for Venezuela

In March 2014, during a time of protests in Venezuela, Carlos Baute released a music video. The video was called "Que tu voz sea mi voz" and asked for "Respect" among people with different political ideas. In the video, Carlos had the Venezuelan flag painted on his face.

He has also shown his support for Juan Guaidó during the Venezuelan presidential crisis. Carlos has said that he has not been able to visit Venezuela for eight years because of the government there.

Carlos Baute's Personal Life

In June 2012, Carlos Baute married Astrid Klisans, who is a Venezuelan model. Today, Carlos lives in Madrid, Spain, with his wife and their three children.
