Carlos Roberto Baute Jiménez (born March 8, 1974), known as Carlos Baute, is a singer, songwriter, and TV host from Caracas, Venezuela. He is famous for his Latin pop music, which also includes ballads and Bachata styles.

Early Life and Family
Carlos Baute is the youngest child of Alfonso Baute and Clara Jiménez. His father was born in Tenerife, Spain, and his mother was born in Venezuela. Both of his parents have a long family history from Spain. The Baute family name comes from the Guanches, who were the native people of the Canary Islands in Spain.
Carlos Baute's Career Journey
Starting in Music
Carlos Baute began his music career early. In 1987, when he was 13, he joined a music group called Los Chamos. They released an album titled Con un poco de Amor in 1990. After that, he also worked as a model. In 1994, he released his first solo album, Orígenes I.
Acting and TV Hosting
Carlos also tried acting. In 1997, he appeared in a Venezuelan TV show called Destino de Mujer. In this show, he played a swimming instructor named Pedro José. Later, he moved to Spain and became very successful with his music albums. He also acted in Spanish TV series like ¡Ala... Dina! and Mis Adorables Vecinos. Besides acting, he hosted several TV shows, including Gala Miss España and Gala Fin de Año de TVE1.

Carlos Baute has released many albums throughout his career. One of his most famous songs is "Colgando en tus manos", which came out in 2008. He released two versions of this song: one by himself and another as a duet with Marta Sánchez. This duet became a huge hit, reaching the top of the music charts in many Spanish-speaking countries around the world. In October 2012, he also released a duet with Laura Pausini called "Las cosas que no me espero".
Personal Life
In June 2012, Carlos Baute married Astrid Klisans, a model from Venezuela. Carlos Baute has lived in Spain since the late 1990s and is also a Spanish citizen. He lives in Madrid, Spain, with his wife and their three children.
In March 2014, during a time of protests in Venezuela, Carlos Baute released a music video. In the video, called "Que tu voz sea mi voz", he asked for "Respect" among people with different political views. He appeared with the Venezuelan flag painted on his face.
