Purificación Martín Aguilera, known professionally as Norma Duval, is a famous Spanish performer, actress, and businesswoman. She was born on April 4, 1956, in Barcelona, Spain.
About Norma Duval
Norma Duval was born in Barcelona. Her family later moved to Madrid because of her father's job. In 1973, when she was 17, she was chosen as Miss Madrid.
She was married to Marc Ostarcevic from 1992 to 2003. In 2020, Norma Duval took part in the first season of the TV show Mask Singer: Adivina quién canta. She performed as the Unicorn and was revealed in the third episode.
Her Career
Norma Duval started her television career in 1974. Her first TV show was ¡Señoras y señores!. She appeared alongside other well-known artists like Ángela Carrasco and Victoria Vera.
She became very famous as a vedette, which is a lead performer in a stage show, often involving singing and dancing. In 1980, she made history by becoming the first Spanish star to headline the famous Parisian theater Folies Bergère. This theater was very popular and had been visited by famous artists like Toulouse-Lautrec. Norma Duval was the second Spanish performer to be the main star there, after Bella Otero. She was one of the last big stars of the traditional "magazine" shows, which were popular stage performances.
After her success in Paris, Norma Duval returned to Spain. She became a businesswoman, directing and managing her own shows. She toured with these shows both in Spain and in other countries, including Mexico and Italy, where she was very successful.
In the late 1980s, she focused more on theater and television. She had great success with a type of Spanish musical play called a zarzuela. One of her popular zarzuela performances was La corte del faraón, which she performed in Valencia in 1993.
After some time away from the stage, Norma Duval returned in October 2000. She starred in a musical called The Woman of the Year.
