Capel Bangor facts for kids
Capel Bangor (which is called Welsh: Penllwyn in Welsh) is a small village in Ceredigion, Wales. It is about 5 miles (8 km) east of the town of Aberystwyth.
The main A44 road goes through the village. You can also find the Vale of Rheidol Railway here, which runs during certain times of the year. In 2011, about 256 people lived in Capel Bangor. Most of them were born in Wales.
St. David's Church
The village has a church called St. David's Church (or Welsh: Eglwys Dewi Sant in Welsh). It belongs to the Church in Wales. This church was built a long time ago, between 1837 and 1839. It was designed by an architect named George Clinton from Aberystwyth.
Capel Bangor Railway Station
Capel Bangor railway station is a stop on the Vale of Rheidol Railway. This railway is quite special! Unlike many other old railways in the United Kingdom that closed down and then reopened as tourist attractions, the Vale of Rheidol Railway has always been open. It has continuously carried people, both locals and visitors, since it first started.
