Carabao Dang Energy Drink is a popular energy drink from Thailand. Its name, "Carabao Dang," means "red water buffalo" in Thai. This drink was first launched in 2002 by a company called Carabao Tawandang Co Ltd.
Today, Carabao Dang is one of the most well-known energy drinks in Thailand. It is the second most popular energy drink there, right after Krating Daeng. It's a very important brand for the Carabao Group in Thailand.
The name "Carabao Dang" comes from two things. First, it's linked to a famous Thai band called Carabao. Second, it's connected to a German restaurant called Tawandang Brewery. The drink's slogan is "Carabao Dang: The Fighting Spirit."
When the drink first came out, it had a big TV advertising campaign. The company's founder, Aed Carabao, who is also a rock star, was in the ads. This campaign was very successful and even won awards in 2003.

Where is Carabao Dang Sold?
Carabao Dang started selling in Europe and the United States in 2004. Later, in 2007, it began to be exported to countries like China and India. By early 2018, Carabao Dang was also available in Australia.
The Energy Drink Market in Thailand
The market for energy drinks in Thailand is quite large. In 2018, it was worth about 35 billion baht. Carabao's own studies show that more than eight million people in Thailand drink energy drinks. Many of these drinkers live in cities, but a lot also live in rural areas. The Carabao Group expected its sales to grow to 15 billion baht in 2018.
How Carabao Dang is Made
Carabao has a large production site in the Bang Pakong district of Chachoengsao province in Thailand. This big factory was finished in mid-2018. It cost 8.7 billion baht to build.
The facility is huge, covering an area of 180 rai. It has different parts, including a plant that makes glass bottles. There's also a plant that makes aluminum cans and another plant for bottling the drink. This new site helps Carabao make many more bottles and cans each year. They can now produce 1.6 billion bottles and 1.5 billion cans annually. The company even has plans to build a fourth factory there in the future.
Sponsoring Sports Teams
Carabao is well-known for sponsoring sports teams and events.
Chelsea Football Club Sponsorship
In 2015, Carabao made a deal with Chelsea F.C., a famous football club. Carabao became their official training wear partner. This meant that the Carabao logo was on Chelsea's training kits. This sponsorship lasted from the 2016-17 season until the 2020-21 season.
Reading Football Club Sponsorship
Carabao also signed a sponsorship deal with Reading F.C. in 2016. For this club, Carabao became the main shirt sponsor.
Carabao Cup Football Competition
One of Carabao's biggest sponsorships is with the EFL Cup. This is a major football competition in England. From the 2017–18 season onwards, the competition was renamed the Carabao Cup.
Other Football Sponsorships
In 2023, Carabao became a sponsor for Hoàng Anh Gia Lai, a football club in Vietnam's V.League 1.
For the 2022-23 season, Carabao also became an official partner of Heart of Midlothian F.C. in Scotland. As part of this partnership, Carabao helps a charity called Big Hearts Community Trust. They donate £1 for every case of Carabao purchased to support the charity.
